Chilthorne Domer Village Hall: About Us

CHILTHORNE DOMER VILLAGE HALL

The Village Hall is located on Main Street, 150m from the junction with Tintinhull Road.   The Village Hall is managed as a registered charity on behalf of those who live in Chilthorne Domer and in the immediate vicinity.  It aims to provide a centre for social and recreational activities regardless of race, sex, age, colour, sexual orientation or physical or mental disability.   The Village Hall is a community facility entirely managed by volunteers; all fees are used to maintain and improve the Hall and its equipment.  The building was built in the 1950s, and was extended and improved in 2002.

Facilities 

 

The Village Hall has the following facilities for users:

 

A Main Hall 11.5m x 7.2m, with a stage and threatrical lighting at one end.  The Main Hall has a capacity for up to 120 seated delegates or 84 seated delegates with tables.


A Meeting Room with with a capacity of up to 26 seated delegates with tables.


The Main Hall has a high-definition video projector, and a 3m wide screen that can be used to screen films and presentations.  The audio system includes Bluetooth connectivity and hearing loop compatibility. 

 

The Main Hall stage is 4m x 3.6 m x 2.2m high,  with dressing rooms.

 

A fully equipped kitchen is available for serving food prepared off the premises.

 

Parking for up to 16 cars is available directly outside.

 

The building has accessibility ramps for persons with reduced mobility, and an accessible toilet.


The Village Hall is used by community health groups, the Village School, dance and leisure groups, and  community clubs.  It has hosted visiting theatrical and music groups, wedding receptions, birthday parties and wakes, as well as business meetings.
