This is my first year planting out veg in the new allotment, and like many fellow gardeners I'm worried about the variety of overground and underground pests that want to spoil all our fun.
Currently, I've got the following planted and being planted soon:
- Potatoes
- Red Onions
- Shallots
- Sunflowers
- Petit Pois
- Runner Beans
- Tomatoes
- Butternut Squash
Does anyone have any great ideas which flowers should be planted next to which to try and stave off the bugs and give the crops a chance to make it through to harvest?

Beer traps, Wool Pellets, going out at night with a head torch collecting them and releasing them far away!... or Nematodes. Nematodes are parasites that eat slugs from the inside. You buy them in powder form online and add to water. Water your veg patch and they get to work. Many nurseries use this method as it's organic and kinder to biodiversity. https://www.gardening-naturally.com/nemaslug-slug-nematodes-40-sqm?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI__qZ_Jid6QIVSuvtCh0gPwPAEAkYASABEgLwoPD_BwE
